A New Baptist Covenant?

I have received numerous questions regarding a meeting of various Baptist groups and denominations (not Southern Baptist) on January 30th in Atlanta, GA, as reported in The Alabama Baptist, February 7th Issue. The meeting was titled Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant. It was organized and led by a former United States President and a host of political and religious leaders. Many of these leaders are proponents of such things as abortion and same-sex marriage. Most of them deny the inerrancy of Holy Scripture and the existence of absolute turth. These leaders are asking us all to over-look our theological differences, tolerate what the Bible calls sin and join arms and work together in the areas we do agree on.

All of this may sound well and good to some folks. However, I am reminded of the words of the late Dr. Adrian Rogers who said, "better to be divided by truth than united in error." Amen!

You really miscast the gathering. As one who was actually there, I can attest that your attack is wrong. To throw out the abortion and homosexuality attacks is a convenient way for you to ignore the actual and biblical messages of the gathering. And before you run away too far, don't forget to read John 17.
